Pork Belly Buns - Airfryer

Makes small bite size servings of about 10 - 20 buns.

The Pork Belly:

  • 2 thick strips of Pork Belly (about 10 inches long, I get mine from Costco)

  • 1 Tbsp Avocado Oil

  • 1 Tbsp Brown Sugar

  • 1 tsp Salt

  • 1 tsp White Pepper

  • 1 tsp Black Pepper

  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder

The Spicy Mayo:

  • 2 Tbsp Kewpie Mayo

  • 1 Tbsp Sriracha

  • 1 Tsp Sesame Oil

Other:

  • 1-2 Persian Cucumbers, sliced thin, diagonally

  • Leafy Greens (I pluck the colorful ones from a Spring Mix)

  • Micro Greens

  • 1 stalk of Green Onion, slices lengthwise into thin strips

  • Steamer Buns, plain (Asian stores have many in the frozen department)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat the Airfryer to 400F. Dry the 2 thick strips of Pork Belly and rub with 1 Tbsp Avocado Oil, 1 Tbsp Brown Sugar, 1 tsp Salt, 1 tsp White Pepper, 1 tsp Black Pepper, & 1 tsp Garlic Powder. Place into the Airfryer for about 18 - 20 minutes until crispy on the outside and at least 165F on the inside. Let it rest a few minutes before slicing diagonally to make bite size pieces.

  2. Meanwhile, steam your buns according to the package instructions. I usually use the Instant Pot for around 6 minutes on High Steam but follow the package. Take them out on a paper towel to dry a bit before slicing, if needed to slice.

  3. Assemble but mixing the Spicy Mayo ingredients and applying a generous teaspoon full onto the bun. Add the greens along with the pork and done!

NOTES

I buy plain buns to make these bite sized but you can use Lotus Buns. You will need to size up the ingredients and quantity for those.
